Sinead Rayner is taking part in the 26.2 mile run today to raise money for Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

The hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough and provides care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families.

Sinead told us the hospice is close to her heart as both her Uncle and Grandad were cared for there:

"Me putting myself through what I think is tiny in comparison to what the hospice does is worth it. I look at this as a small step, I'm doing something so small compared to what they do daily," she said.

"I've learned about so many other people's stories and their connection to Thorpe Hall and that gives you the fuel to keep going."

From not being able to run a mile, Sinead has built up her training and is now ready to take on one of the most popular marathons in the world that started in 1981.

The route takes in many of London's best landmarks including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.

Sinead added:

"At the start of the week I was really nervous, but as the week's gone on and I've spoken to more people and I've organised my family and friends who are coming to support on the day, I'm getting more excited."
