The Kongra Star Council issued a written statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, in which it reads:
"As we know, on March 8, 1857, the dominant regime burned down a clothing factory in New York City, USA, resulting in the loss of 129 women’s lives. This date exposed the true face of the patriarchal system that turned into a state. to become the International Day of Working Women, and everyone witnessed this painful event that became a cry for the history of women’s oppression, and with the research and investigation conducted by Clara Zetkin on the March 8 incident, and as an introduction to women’s pursuit of the right to life, she proposed during the Second Conference of International Women held in the German city of Copenhagen in 1910, designating this day as International Women's Day.
But we must know that in the person of Clara Zetkin, Rosa Luxemburg, Alexandra Kollontai, Leila Qasim, Sakine Cansiz, Zeinab Kanaji, Sama Yuga and thousands of resistance fighters, women continued to resist and struggle to convey the souund of freedom to these women, and in our present day, Arin Mirkan, Mother Aqida, Hevrin Khalaf, Yusra Darwish, Reyhan and Zalal write heroic epics about their resistance.
With the philosophy and model of leader Apo based on freedom and the environment and with the slogan “Women, Life, Freedom” that has spread throughout the world under the leadership of Gina Amini and Sorkhin, we will launch, under the slogan “With the free will of women, we end the policies of extermination, occupation and isolation”, a strong campaign of struggle and show that that a woman can't live enslaved on the land of the gods one day, and that she will be for herself and lead life.
Our destiny is to resist in the spirit of March 8, and our solution is the democratic, environmental and freedom-guarantoring model.
In light of the continuation of World War III, women and children are the most exposed to killing, and mothers shed tears for their children, and their lives are dominated by pain and suffering. Therefore, we will always say (Women, Life, Freedom) and insist on strengthening women’s unity.
We will insist on being ourselves and expressing our being. We will preserve ourselves and our land with fundamental protection approaches. We will also preserve our culture and language. We will be worthy of women, our people, our martyrs, and our leader. We will say in the face of all the reactionaries (Women, Life, Freedom) and with the free will of women, we will end the policies of extermination, occupation and isolation this year, and we will confirm through various campaigns and events that we stand with the women of Şengal and Afghanistan and that we will never abandon women.
At the same time, this year will be a year of self-examination, to distinguish between right and wrong, we must first know ourselves, break isolation, and defeat the occupation. We will guarantee freedom through free will and make the 21st century the century of freedom.
We will have the faith, courage and ambition of our comrades, and by developing and strengthening the women's revolution, we will stand against all policies of extermination and capitalism, break the strict isolation imposed on leader Apo and preserve our language and identity.
Let them know that the resistance will continue wherever the free Kurds and free women go, and we always say, as Kongra Star and the pioneers of the revolution, either freedom or freedom. Our lives will always be free, we do not accept anything but freedom, and let friend and enemy know that our only philosophy in life is the philosophy of women’s liberation, and women, life, freedom, and no power or entity will be able to condemn us to a life of backwardness and slavery.
March 8 has become a symbol of resistance, freedom and equality, and on this occasion we congratulate our fellow resistance fighters on the frontlines, the YPJ fighters, the families of the martyrs and freedom fighters, and the leader of this cause, leader Apo.
