See Gigi Hadid Channel Marilyn Monroe With This Hair Experiment

Blink, and you might just mistake Gigi Hadid for Marilyn Monroe. Wearing her hair in a platinum blonde bob – a modern version of Monroe’s iconic coiffed style – with rose-pink lipstick on her bee-stung lips, the model posted an Instagram Story in which she bore a striking resemblance to the Old Hollywood beauty.

It turns out that the new hair look is actually a wig, with Hadid admitting she enjoyed having “fun” on set with her hairstylist Panos Papandrianos, who himself posted about the two experimenting with wigs while shooting with Maybelline, for whom Hadid is a face.

Proving she can get away with any hair colour or length, Hadid’s natural style (beneath the wig) is currently ultra long and dyed that copper hue that has been trending all through lockdown. She has previously sported a softer, beachy blonde.

While she has never cut her hair into a bob, she did previously experiment with the look, wearing a “faux bob” to an awards ceremony in Los Angeles in 2015. Given the current craze for short haircuts – and the fact that the wig looked rather excellent on her – perhaps it’s only a matter of time before she does take the plunge.
