'Uncharted' Star Mark Wahlberg Shared a Mustache Challenge

Just days after flexing his muscular physique to highlight his recent body transformation on Instagram, Mark Wahlberg is back on social media showing off again. This time, though, he's debuting a different kind of transformation: he's sporting a handlebar mustache. He grew it for the part of Sully in the upcoming video game adaptation Uncharted opposite Tom Holland, and he's now encouraging others to do the same.

"Everyone's been wondering about the 'stache," he says in the video. "This is the official Sully 'stache from Uncharted."

In the movie, Sully is a seasoned treasure hunter and the partner and mentor of Tom Holland's character Nate. The promotional materials for Uncharted don't feature the facial hair much, so it's likely that Wahlberg's soup-strainer will have more of a cameo than a starring role.

"I'm challenging you," Wahlberg continued. "I want to see your Sully 'stache, so tag me, #SullyStache, and let's see the best mustaches, I'm going to put them on my 'gram."

A lot of A-listers have rocked the mustache for film roles, including Brad Pitt, Milo Ventimiglia, Zac Efron, and of course, Henry Cavill, who grew a beardstache for Mission: Impossible (reshoots on the set of Justice League then famously led to all kinds of uncanny valley CGI in post-production). And then there are actors like Sam Elliott and Tom Selleck, whose facial hair is honestly part of their brand at this point.
