Marti Pellow releases emotional Hogmanay video with Partick ...
Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow has released an emotional Hogmanay video, with Partick streets used as the backdrop.
The video, titled An Ode to a Scottish New Year, features Marti reading out a poem about families during the festive time as he walks through the dark west end streets while wearing a kilt.
In the video, the singer said: "Although at times it may seem tragic, what I would give for one more night of magic. To see all my loved ones would make me ecstatic.
"A happy new year when it comes to you all and a glass lifted for those not here. May the beautiful memories outshine the tears. A happy new year to one and all."
The clip ends with the famous singer embracing a woman in a tenement, and wishing both his late parents a happy new year.
Pellow's mother passed away in 2003, and his father in 2014 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Marti took part in a Beatson performance at Glasgow Queen Street Station, where he wowed commuters to help raise awareness of the cancer charity's work.
The recent video, posted onto Facebook, has since gained over 600,000 views and over 1,000 comments from fans, many of which related to the words expressed by the 59-year-old.
One fan commented: "Well done tonight Marti! AND this clip was so so special! I also would give anything to have one last cuddle with my mum again. It's been so long now, but I feel her with me a lot, especially now! This did bring a tear to my eye! You're a very special man Mart."
Another said: "Happy New Year. This brought a tear to my eyes as I so remember those days and wish could have one more with them all."
A third added: "This wee clip took me back to all those precious Hogmanay's when I was wee. What I would give to go back and do it all again with those no longer here. Thank you for bringing back those beautiful memories."
Marti was also seen on TV screens on New Year's Eve after he performed in the BBC's The Not Quite End of Year show and during the Hogmanay celebrations.
