Martine McCutcheon given brutal explanation after axe from Who Do You Think You Are

Martine McCutcheon has revealed she was rejected by BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? because her family is full of “wrong ‘uns”.

The 45-year-old Love Actually star said beeb bosses were excited when she first agreed to take part in the show, which looks into celebrity family histories.

But after finding out some of her ancestors had spent time in prison, Martine was told she would no longer be featured.

“They were just really disappointed because there’s a lot of mad huts and wrong ‘uns that they just didn’t talk about,” she told Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s podcast Parenting Hell.

“They got all excited when they thought I would like to do it. Then they called me and went ‘This isn’t going to work.’”

Martine – who got her big break starring as Tiffany Mitchell in EastEnders – added: “I probably am a typical East End mum.

“I’m full of praise, full of love and affection. But I’m also like ‘Enough is enough.’

“I still go back to where I’m from, still see my friends, still see my family. When I go back to Bethnal Green they think I speak beautifully. They go ‘Don’t you speak nice now?’”

Although she didn’t get to star on Who Do You Think You Are? Martine is looking better than ever.

She recently shared she had lost 21 inches from her whole body after following the Cambridge Weight Plan.

Praised as the “perfect diet”, the low calorie plan replaces meals with nutritious soups, shakes, porridges and snack bars.

There is also one-to-one care available with doctors who guide followers through their weight loss journey.

Mum-of-one Martine, who has eight-year-old son Rafferty with husband Jack McManus, recently stunned in a little black sequin dress as she headed out to a Christmas party.

In another festive snap, Martine posed with her younger sister Louisa for a fancy night out at Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair.

Sharing the photos on Instagram with her xx followers, she wrote: “My gorgeous sister @louisa.sarahjane I love you and the fact you managed to get me into London for a pre crimbo get together whilst we’ve both been up to our eyes in work and social commitments just goes to show how much I adore you & vice Versa!”

While her followers were full of praise for the sisters and their festive night out, some were concerned by Martine’s ever-shrinking frame.

One commented: “Looking beautiful as ever Martine. Don't lose any more tho.”

While another added: “Wonderful but pls don’t lose any more weight!”

Martine has often spoken out about her battle with her weight over the years, and in 2016 she said she wanted to stay “as thin as I could be” after being body shamed by cruel trolls.
