McDonald's Spicy McNuggets Go On Sale Today But You'll Have To Be Quick

You can tell a lot about a person from which meal they purchase during a trip to Maccies. There is a clear hierarchy. And sat smugly at the top is the chicken nugget. They are, quite frankly, the holy grail of the McDonald's menu.

You can tell a lot about a person from which meal they purchase during a trip to Maccies. There is a clear hierarchy. And sat smugly at the top is the chicken nugget.

They are, quite frankly, the holy grail of the McDonald's menu. Sure, you could go for a Big Mac with fries, and there would be nothing wrong with that. But the chicken nugget is in a league of its own.

Something you would assume could not be bettered. That was until today (7 August), because since 10.30am, customers have finally been able to get their hands on the fast-food giant's new Spicy McNuggets. Amen.

Yep, since news of the new tasty treat was announced, food fans have been falling over themselves to get their hands on the deep-fried chunks of poultry.

According to the folks at McDonald's, the UK version of the product uses a new, specially-developed recipe. They also come with a Tabasco-based dip, just in case you want to bump up the spice even more.

But you will have to be quick if you want to get your serving as they will only be around for the next seven weeks.

They will be available in the UK and Ireland priced at £3.19 for six, £3.49 for nine, or if you're feeling particularly peckish - drunk - you can pick up a box of 20 for £4.99.

The Spicy McNuggets have already been trialled in the US and Asia, while the lucky buggers over in Australia have them on the menu permanently.

This isn't the first time anyone on these shores will have sampled the meal however. Apparently the Spicy McNuggets were dished out to 1,000 festival-goers at Y Not in Derbyshire.

And over the weekend, hundreds of people queued for hours outside a restaurant in Greater Manchester to try some before they went on open sale today.

According to Chronicle Live, the time and location of the preview - 3pm at the McDonald's restaurant on Cross Lane, Salford - were not revealed until lunchtime, giving people just over two hours to race to the restaurant and get in line.

Only 600 of the tasty treats were handed out to eager crowds. But if you weren't one of the lucky ones, not to worry, as it's just a matter of days before you can find them on offer at your local McDonald's.

Get down there quick if you want to get your hands on a box.
