Firefighters called to school to unlock safe containing question papers

In a bizarre and hilarious incident, firefighters in a German town were called to a high school to unlock a safe containing question papers for a final-year exam.

Firefighters in the town of Bocholt received an unusual distress call on Friday from a high school after teachers failed to open a safe containing exam papers, reported Associated Press.

The firefighters, who didn't know genitally what the distress call was about, raced to the scene in quick time. But when they got there, they found out the school staff was struggling to open a safe.

Instead of calling it a false alarm, Bocholt fire department team sawed open the safe.

Due to their timely intervention, students were able to sit for their after an hour's delay.

"That way the students were able to sit their exam with about an hour’s delay," the Bocholt fire department said.

Unsurprisingly, the reaction from students was mixed but the teachers went on to cheer for the firefighters.

"Some of them would probably have enjoyed a sunny day off instead," the fire department added.
