It's the most wonderful time of the year for royal fans. Of course there's the holidays themselves, but even better for those who are dedicated to following the British royal family, this time of year means plenty of photos and well-wishes straight from the royals themselves. Earlier this December William and Kate shared their holiday card, as did Charles and Camilla, and now Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a holiday greeting as well—and their end-of-year message marks the first time the Sussexes have shared a photo of their baby girl Lili.
"Happy Holidays," reads the card.
"This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family."
The note continues detailing a number of organizations the Sussexes are supporting this year. "As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan, to American families in need of paid parental leave:
Team Rubicon
Welcome.US
Human First Coalition
Humanity Crew
&
Paid Leave For All
PL+US
Marshall Plan for Moms
Wishing you a happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year, from our family to yours!
As ever,
Harry, Meghan, Archie & Lili"
It's been a big year for the Sussexes. Early in 2021, the couple debuted in their Emmy-nominated primetime interview with Oprah where they opened up about some of the struggles that led them to step back from life as working royals and relocate to California. Harry later produced a whole docuseries with Oprah for Apple TV+ titled The Me You Can't See, while Meghan began producing a children's show for Netflix with the couple's Archewell Productions. Meghan also authored her first children's book, The Bench, inspired by Harry and their son Archie as well as the then-unborn baby Lili, who undoubtedly brought the Sussex family their most exciting moment of the year. Born June 6, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor became the youngest member of the Sussex family, as well as the 11th great-grandchild to her namesake, Queen Elizabeth. Up until now, the Sussexes had not yet shared a photo of their daughter with the public.
