Michael Schumacher 'conspiracy' felt by fans as son Mick dents Hamilton's record hope
Formula One fans have a theory that Mick Schumacher caused Nicholas Latifi to crash to protect his father's record from Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton is currently tied with Michael Schumacher on seven Driver's World Championships apiece.
And Hamilton looked to be cruising to his eighth, and record-breaking, title until a safety car was brought onto the circuit due to Latifi's crash.
Schumacher and Latifi had been jockeying for positions further down the pack, and after misjudging a corner Latifi smashed into one of the barriers.
An indirect consequence of their battle, and Latifi's crash, allowed Max Verstappen to win his first Drivers World Championship.

A third tweeted: "[Latifi's crash] caused by Michael Schumacher's son who pushed Latifi outside of the track right after Horner was saying they needed a "miracle" to win it."
"Michael Schumacher forcing Latifi to crash so Lewis can't beat his dad's record. This conspiracy goes so deep," a fourth suggested.

And his son is looking to follow in his footsteps after his professional debut for Haas in 2021.
Following the season finale in Abu Dhabi Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto said that he expected Schumacher to have a "very difficult" first season.
But he then added that Schumacher could be in the red of Ferrari by 2023.
