Naga addressed Shakin' Steves to talk about his iconic festive hit, Merry Christmas Everyone, but things soon turned awkward, the Daily Star reports.

Beginning the interview, Naga said: "Let's talk to someone who knows a thing or two about Christmas at Number 1 - Shakin' Stevens joins us - good morning to you!"

She went on to introduce Andy, and began by quizzing him: "As we saw there, you're throwing your hat into the ring. How did that come about?"

But before Andy could answer, Shakin' Stevens interrupted.

He said: "Well, it's been like this every year. Are we talking about Merry Christmas Everyone?"

Laughing, Naga explained: "No, we weren't yet, Shakin', we were just gonna figure that out!"

The studio erupted into laughter - but Naga had another question for the music legend, asking: "Can I just ask you something? It feels really odd to call you Shakin', is that how I'm supposed to refer to you?"

Steven replied: "No, it's not. In conversation it's Shaky."

Blushing, Naga said: "Oh, sorry. I apologise."

Fans on Twitter said the interview was "cringey".

Another said: "Shaky's always good value on these things!"

A third added: "Blimey that was cringey!"
