NatWest and RBS to shut 48 more bank branches this year full list of new
closures
A further 48 Natwest and RBS bank branches will close this year taking the total number of sites set to shut for good to 79

NatWest and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) confirmed that 48 more bank branches would close this year.

In total the banks, which are all part of the NatWest Group, will be closing 79 bank branches across the country in total in 2024. Natwest announced it was closing a further 47 sites whilst RBS would be closing one branch.

The news is yet another blow to Brits who prefer in-person banking after the banking group announced in November that 18 sites would close for good. On its website, NatWest said banking has "changed dramatically in recent years", citing the "increased demand" for mobile and online services.

The bank said average counter transactions reduced by 60% between January 2019 and January 2023. In the same period, the number of mobile app customers increased by 49%. Closures of the sites will begin in July this year and will run until October. Only one Natwest branch in London has not had a confirmed closure date - 15 branches in London will be closing from this announcement. The only RBS branch in this announcement will be shutting it's doors for good on October 15.

Some banks to close are the last remaining bank in that area and this includes the Natwest branches in Chadwell Heath, Larkfield, Norbury, and Southall. In London it's Station Road, Abbey Road, and Finchley Road branches are the last.

Below is a full list of the closures announced, alongside their address and closure date.
