The Naughty Dog team reveals their favorite games of 2021, with a few surprises

The TGAs have already passed judgment. But hey, here we all want to participate. Y Naughty Dog, which was the company that won practically all the awards in the 2020 edition, wanted to highlight what are the favorite games of some team members with respect to the launches of this 2021.

And although the truth is that most are predictable choices, like Deathloop, It Takes Two, or Metroid Dread, other options surprise a little more. We are all awaiting what the study’s next projects will be, but while we wait, this appetizer is not bad either.

As they report from Gamingbolt, Naughty Dog’s choices have been published through an interesting article from your website. And without further ado, and as they themselves say at the beginning of the article, “Take a look at some of the games that inspired, excited and entertained some of us here at Naughty Dog in 2021.”.

• Fortnite: Chosen by Anthony Newman (Game Director).
• Frostpunk: Chosen by Patrick Goss (QA Director)
• The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes: Chosen by Ashley Swidowski (Character Art Director).
• Inscryption: Chosen by Vinit Agarwal (Game Director).
• It Takes Two: Elected by Rochelle Snyder (Senior Communications Manager) and Evan Wells (Co-Chair)
• Metroid Dread: Chosen by Wasim Khan (Director of Character Technology).
• Returnal: Chosen by Jeremy Yates (Animation Director) and Arne Meyer (Vice President).

As you can see there is a trick, since some games were actually released in 2020, although they have had some update, improvement for a new generation, or physical edition this year. In addition, the case of Fortnite is totally separate. Likewise, there are surprises like choosing a horror game like House of Ashes.

In the same way, it is clear which are the most repeated in the formula. And there are no surprises: Deathloop (with three votes) and It Takes Two (with two votes) are the absolute GOTYs. Interestingly, the three people who have voted on Arkane’s game are involved in management tasks.
