We simulated Newcastle United vs Brighton to get a score prediction
Newcastle United host Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday, so we simulated the game to get a pre-match score prediction.

Newcastle United can to climb seven points clear of the relegation zone on Saturday, as they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

The Magpies overcame 10-man Brentford in their last Premier League outing, winning 2-0 against the Bees with first-half goals from Joelinton and Joe Willock sealing the win after Joshua Dasilva's early dismissal. Eddie Howe's side have now gone seven Premier League games without defeat, with their last defeat coming against Manchester City in December.

The Magpies were without star player Allan Saint-Maximin against Brentford last week and the winger hasn't trained with the squad yet ahead of the Brighton game, making him a doubt again. Howe said ahead of the match: "Saint-Maximin hasn't trained yet with us. We're hoping today.

"We'll have to make a call after. We're as we were for Brentford otherwise."

Howe also hopes Matt Ritchie can return to training next week, whilst Kieran Trippier has had stitches out ahead of his recovery. Callum Wilson also remains absent.

So, what line-ups will both teams select? And, what could the final score be?

We used kick-off mode in FIFA 22, but didn't select a team to control, we then selected the teams and watched the match play out by itself, to give us a score prediction.

We predict that Newcastle could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Dubravka; Krafth, Schar, Burn, Targett; Willock, Shelvey, Joelinton; Murphy, Wood, Fraser.

We predict that Brighton could set up in a 3-5-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Cucurella; Lamptey, Moder, Bissouma, Mac Allister, March; Trossard, Maupay.

A high tempo start from the visitors seemed to catch Newcastle by surprise, with the quick start handing Brighton a couple of chances, and they took the lead after five minutes through Leonardo Trossard.

A long ball out from the back saw Alex Mac Allister receive the ball in the middle, and Trossard was found just inside the box after his deep run forward. Dan Burn kept the Belgian onside, and Trossard skipped past the defender before firing into the net.

The Magpies couldn't contain Brighton in the opening stages. Another two major chances fell the Seagulls way before half-time, putting the visitors 3-0 up at St. James' Park. Trossard grabbed his second when he slid in at the back post to tap Neal Maupay's cross in from close range. Maupay then found himself on the scoresheet minutes later, firing through Burn's legs and past the unsighted Dubravka.

The Magpies needed a big change in the second half, with Howe introducing Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almiron at half-time, and the former made an instant impact as he set up Willock just after the restart.

Guimaraes played the ball into the feet of Wood before continuing his run forward. Wood held up the ball well before threading it back to the Brazilian with a smart flick. In a two-on-one situation with Willock bearing down on goal, Guimaraes waited for the Brighton defender to commit himself before lobbing the ball into the path of Willock. The Englishman let it bounce twice before hitting a fierce strike into the far corner.

Momentum was now with the home side, with the Magpies were creating more chances, eventually cutting the deficit to one goal with 10 minutes remaining. A powerful finish from Almiron grabbed Newcastle's second, with both substitutes involved in the goal. After receiving the ball on the edge of the box, Guimaraes played a reverse pass out to Almiron on the right.

The Paraguayan cut onto his left and feinted past two defenders to open up a pocket of space in the box. When allowed a sight of goal, Almiron fired across the 'keeper and into the far corner.

Despite the second-half domination, Newcastle were unable to find that third goal to level the game. Wood came close with a looping header, but he could only hit the top of the net as the Magpies fell to a first defeat in eight.

FIFA 22 predicts that Newcastle could be caught off guard by an impressive Brighton side on Saturday, should they not start the game well. A double change at the break tilted the game into Newcastle's favour, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback, falling to a 3-2 defeat against the Seagulls, which should serve as a warning ahead of the game!

FIFA 22 is available now on all platforms, including PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
