Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace LIVE: Miguel Almiron wonderfully curls hosts into lead

Crystal Palace take on Newcastle United at St James' Park tonight hoping to shake off the disappointment of their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on the weekend.

Both the Eagles and Magpies are sat on 37 points in the Premier League, though Patrick Vieria's side have a game in hand and a far superior goal difference to their opponents. When the two sides met at Selhurst Park earlier in the season it finished 1-1, with Callum Wilson cancelling out Christian Benteke's opener with an overhead kick in the second half.

Wilson is unavailable for Newcastle this evening through injury, joining Kieran Trippier and Ryan Fraser on the sidelines who also both miss the match with knocks. In his pre-match press conference, Eddie Howe provided fresh injury news and confirmed his side would be training on Wednesday morning ahead of the evening kick-off.

Vieira confirmed in his presser that club captain Luka Milivojevic would miss the trip to Tyneside with injury after coming on in the final minutes at Wembley against Chelsea on Sunday. The Eagles boss said he would be paying close attention to how his players responded to defeat against the Blues, with Palace still gunning for a top-half finish in the Premier League this season.
