Newcastle United vs Man City LIVE: Visitors two goals up after howler and stunning strike

Newcastle United went into their game with Manchester City without Jonjo Shelvey and Javier Manquillo.

The midfielder picked up an injury after the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool while Manquillo has a non-Covid bout of illness.

The Magpies have won just one match this season and were massive underdogs against the champions.

The full-back's effort blazes into the Gallowgate End after some good play from Bernardo Silva to fashion the opening.

The midfielder goes in to the book for catching De Bruyne late.

Bernardo goes down after Lascelles wins the ball with a strong challenge.

The captain is quick to tell the attacker to get back on his feet.

Ritchie's free-kick is cleared, and Almiron swings the ball back in.

Ederson comes out to claim, and he clatters Wilson in the process.

No foul, but the number nine takes a while to get back to his feet.

Great driving run from Joelinton wins his side a free-kick about 35 yards out.

Martin Atkinson blows for a foul as Hayden attempts to nick the ball off De Bruyne in his own box.
