this week

Virgin Media is back with a deal that'll likely catch gamers' and money-savers' attention. Anyone who upgrades their TV and broadband package will get the choice between two mega freebies. Either afree Nintendo Switch Console or £200 in credit to put towards your newly bought plan.

TV deals are coming thick and fast this spring, with ways to get much cheaper subscriptions and discounts on broadband and TV channel bundles. Sky's recent 'race to the title' sports deal for Premier League fans has cropped up in the last few days, but its price drops don't beat Virgin's latest offer after all the rival provider also offers Sky Sports through its packages.

Anyone who buys one of four Virgin Media plans; Bigger Movie Combo Bundle, Bigger Sports HD Combo Bundle, Biggest Combo, or its Mega Volt Bundle to be precise, will get the choice between two mega freebies. Either a £259.99 Nintendo Switch 1:1 Console or £200 to put towards their newly taken out bill - that'll cut your monthly costs.

It's an offer tech experts keep on their radar as it's a notorious deal from the brand, before the current Nintendo Switch offer shoppers got the chance to bag an LG smart TV, no matter which free gadget is handed out the choice of a free £200 bill credit stays the same. Although, time is ticking on the deal.

The offer is only around for new billpayers until the end of the week, as it finishes this Sunday, April 28. You'll have to buy one of its four plans before 11.59 pm. And as we caution with any tech contract nowadays, bear in mind that the deal means you'll be fixing into a fixed 24-month contract, there is no wiggle room to leave halfway through without being subject to a hefty fee.

Plans part of the deal start at £65 a month, the cheapest being its Bigger Sports HD Combo Bundle with 195 channels including Sky Sports, and Ultrafast fibre broadband with speeds of 264mbps. Also up for grabs is its Mega Volt Bundle, at £85 a month this has pretty much everything a household could need, from more than 230 TV channels, Sky Sport, Sky Cinema (for your cosy movie nights), Ultrafast broadband with an average speeds of 1130mbps and an unlimited O2 SIM.

Virgin's deal comes at a similar time when rivals Sky are making upgrades to their TV plans, a move experts have recently branded as 'a major overhaul'. The Mirror's tech editor, Dave Snelling, said: "The major new Entertainment OS update, which will start rolling out soon, is packed with changes but one of the best additions fixes a long-running issue when streaming content such as football, rugby or F1."

It means Sky Sports TV viewers will get quick transmission speeds when watching live matches, and avoid delays which have previously seen fans miss out on the exact 'back of the goal' moments.
