Emergency services have been called to a huge fire in Nottingham on Thursday evening, May 6.

Firefighters from seven stations have been called to the industrial blaze at Harrimans Lane, in the Dunkirk area of the city.

Eyewitnesses have reported plumes of smoke being seen in an area close to the University of Nottingham campus in Lenton, although an exact location is not yet known.

Images sent to Nottinghamshire Live show the fire can be seen by residents in areas including Beeston and West Bridgford.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue said: "We are currently in attendance at a large industrial fire on Harrimans Lane in the Dunkirk area. We currently have crews from London Road, Highfields, West Bridgford, Stockhill, Long Eaton and Loughborough Fire Station tackling the blaze."
