Nottingham protests: Several arrested by police after scuffles

Protests have been taking place in several cities across the UK over the weekend, which follows unrest in the wake of the Southport stabbings on Monday.

In Nottingham, hundreds of people congregated in the area throughout the afternoon.

Witnesses reported seeing minor disturbances, including items being thrown from both sides.

A number of shops and businesses closed their doors as a precaution.

The wider city centre away from Old Market Square was largely unaffected by the protests.
