Premium Bonds prize checker updated as NS&I unveils winners of February 2021 draw

Premium Bonds prize checker updated as NSI unveils winners of February 2021 draw
PREMIUM BONDS holders may well be turning straight to the NS&I prize checker this morning, in the hopes of discovering they have won a prize in the February 2021 draw.

On Monday, February 1, NS&I shared some details surrounding the winners of the Premium Bonds draw this month. This included announcing where in the world the two winners of the £1million jackpot prizes are from.

All the while maintaining their anonymity, the government-backed savings provider confirmed both winners this month are male, and from Inner London and North Yorkshire.

The first number to be drawn this month was 398WP403111.

It's part of a £50,000 holding belonging to the man from Inner London.

He bought the winning Bond in June 2020, and the win makes him the sixth £1million Premium Bonds jackpot winner form the area.

The second Bond number to be drawn was 304HM348661; it was purchased in June 2017.

It belongs to a man based in North Yorkshire.

He holds the maximum £50,000 in Premium Bonds, and his win makes him the third Premium Bonds millionaire from North Yorkshire.

In the February 2021 prize draw, there was a total of 2,960,195 prizes.

DON'T MISS

The prize fund to be paid out is worth £85,105,550.

Prize payouts range from £25 up to the £1million jackpot.

This month, there were 102,126,660,758 Bond numbers eligible for the draw.

As of today, the prize checker has been updated for the February 2021 draw.

It means customers can check either the prize checker app, the prize checker on the NS&I website, or via their Amazon Alexa enabled device to see if they have won.

For the website tool, customers will need their Premium Bonds holder's number.

To use the app, savers should ensure they have their NS&I number or holder's number to hand.

Yesterday, NS&I issued a reminder that a change in the way Premium Bonds prizes are paid will come into force from Spring 2021.

From this time, NS&I will begin to phase out the usage of Premium Bonds prize warrants, which is like a cheque.

Instead, customers are able to arrange to have any prizes they win paid directly into their bank account.

Another option is to have automatically reinvested into more Premium Bonds - up to the maximum limit of £50,000.

The withdrawal of prize warrants won't begin until the spring of 2021, however, so NS&I said customers don't need to take action now, and they can do so at a later date.
