Roy Keanes brilliant reaction to Englands lastgasp Ollie Watkins
England super sub Ollie Watkins scored a 91st-minute goal to send the Three Lions through to the final of Euro 2024, beating the Netherlands 2-1 in Dortmund to book a clash with Spain on Sunday

Roy Keane left viewers in stitches with his hilarious reaction to England's 91st-minute winner against the Netherlands to reach the final of Euro 2024.

Ollie Watkins, who'd only been on the pitch for 10 minutes, produced a sensational cross-goal finish to beat Bart Verbruggen and win the game 2-1 for England. His goal has sent the Three Lions through to their second successive European Championship final, where they'll face red-hot Spain in Berlin on Sunday.

Irishman Keane was on punditry duty for ITV and when Watkins' shot hit the back of the net, English colleagues Gary Neville and Ian Wright went wild celebrating. Keane, though, was unmoved, holding a wry smile and only moving a few inches to the side as he looked over the studio balcony during replays of England's historic moment.

England vs Netherlands LIVE: Three Lions reach Euro 2024 final after late Ollie Watkins goal

Wednesday's victory marks the first time that the Three Lions have reached the final of a tournament on foreign soil, with Gareth Southgate also becoming the first England manager to lead the men's side into two major tournament finals. But it was the Netherlands who started strongest, as Xavi Simons put the Dutch ahead after just seven minutes with a thunderous strike.

Harry Kane soon drew England level by slamming in a hotly-debated penalty after VAR adjudged that he was fouled by Denzel Dumfries, and Southgate's side were in the ascendency before half-time. The second half was largely an even contest but one moment of brilliance from Watkins mate the difference at the death.

"Unbelievable," the Aston Villa striker told ITV amid the celebrations. "I've been waiting for that moment for weeks. It's taken a lot of hard work to get where I am today, grateful that I got the opportunity and I grabbed it with both hands. I'm delighted."

Watkins revealed: "I swear on my life, I swear on my kids' life, I said to Cole Palmer [who assisted the goal], we're coming on and you're going to set me up today. And that's why I was so happy.

"I knew as soon as he got the ball he was going to play me and then you’ve got to be greedy: touch and finish. And when I seen it go in the bottom corner… oh my life. Best feeling ever."
