Oscar nominations: how to watch every 2022 nominee on streaming and in cinemas
The Power of the Dog, CODA and Encanto are just some of the nominations you can stream right now - here’s how
There used to be a time when it would be an agonising wait for film fans to see each year’s Oscar-nominated movies for themselves.
Critically acclaimed films that may have been available in America for some months usually didn’t make their way to our shores until after the awards ceremony itself, where films enjoyed a second bounce buoyed by their Oscar success.
At the time of writing, of the 53 films that have received a nomination, 68% of them are readily available to view right now, whether in cinemas or through streaming services - 47% of them can be viewed from the comfort of your own home!
We’ve highlighted the 21 films that have received multiple nominations for the 94th Academy Awards - but we’ve listed every other film below those highlights too.

If you’re looking to splash out on a new streaming service subscription, but aren’t sure which to opt for, here’s how the Big Four stack up in terms of hosting Oscar nominations:
- Netflix: 10
- Disney Plus: 7
- Amazon Prime Video: 2
- Apple TV Plus: 2
For the second year in a row, the Oscars have been delayed due to the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Instead of their usual end of February slot, the awards will again fall a month later, on 27 March 2022.
Details on how film fans can watch the ceremony live have yet to be confirmed, but last year’s event was broadcast live in the UK on the Sky Cinema Oscars channel.
Given the time difference, the show will start at 1am UK time in the early hours of Monday (28 March) morning, and run until around 4am to 5am.
