UFC 304: Paddy Pimblett dominates King Green with first-round ...

Popular UFC lightweight Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett continued his unbeaten UFC streak with a statement win over American King Green on Sunday morning.

Prior to the fight, Green had only ever been submitted twice, with the most recent being in 2009, but he had never been submitted during his UFC career.

After the win, the Liverpudlian took out his gumshield to show the cameras a simple message "Men speak up" as he continued his campaign for men to become more comfortable discussing their mental health.

Speaking after the fight, Pimblett oozed confidence, saying: "Statement made, b******! I'm the first person to submit Bobby in the UFC, that's a statement!"

"To all you haters out there, that said I would never get a ranking, what now? Have you got to move the goalposts again?

"'Bobby is a has-been, Bobby has finished.' Well now I've got a ranking next to my name so suck this.

"I said beforehand, I'll say it, the king of the f****** north is here."

The 29-year-old called out 10th-ranked Renato Moicano for a fight, suggesting that the pair meet later in the year or at the beginning of next year if the Brazilian is successful in his fight with Benoit Saint-Denis in September.

And while speaking on the microphone, he took the time to dedicate his performance to seven-year-old Chad Jones who tragically lost his life to cancer this year.

Pimblett said: "I just want to dedicate this fight to little Chaddy the Baddy, seven years of age, lost his life to cancer, seven years old. He called himself Chaddy the Baddy because he's a baddy fan, little man that's for you."

“I’ve been working on my boxing, and I’m so happy with how the striking went, and he shot in on me!

“I thought the ref was a bit slow, I think he was unconscious when I ended up taking the arm as well, because I heard the arm made a crunch.

“That’s why as soon as I got back in the cage, I made sure he was ok because, obviously, we might be fighters, we might say things to each other in the build-up, but we don’t want to seriously injure someone. So, I hope Bobby’s alright.”

Pimblett recently became the father to two twin girls, who he paid tribute to after the fight, saying they are the reason he is a fighter.

He added: "I’ve got something to fight for now. No one I get into that cage with is taking food out of my baby’s mouth. I’m doing everything for them.”
