Phil Fodens mum punched by man in brawl at Amir Khan vs Kell Brook

A women, who appeared to be Claire Foden was struck by a man as Phil Foden was caught up in a brawl at the AO Arena in Manchester as the Man City star watched Kell Brook's win over Amir Khan

Phil Foden was caught up in violence at the AO Arena in Manchester as Kell Brook fought Amir Khan on Saturday night.

Foden was one of numerous big names in attendance after Manchester City ’s 3-2 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the evening.

Footage shared on social media seemed to show Foden being hounded by a group of men as he escaped into an executive box.

His girlfriend, Rebecca Cooke, turns and shouts, “who are you calling a c***?” Before they walk into the private area.

Moments later a woman, who appears to be his mum, Claire, 41, emerges to confront the group asking “who’s calling him?” Before telling them “f*** off now, you p****”.

The situation then escalates as she pushes one of the men and he responds by punching her in the face.

Several punches are then thrown as a brawl breaks out among those in the area, with Foden seen re-emerging from the room but playing no further part in the fighting.

Girlfriend Rebecca also stands away but appears to be heard shouting “Claire!”

The situation eventually calms down and those involved flee the scene, with one man appearing to launch a fire extinguisher in their direction.

Greater Manchester Police are understood to have been contacted over the scrap.

The fight appeared to break out just as Kell Brook made his way to the ring ahead of his win over Khan, with his ring walk song, ‘All of the Lights’ heard blaring out in the background of the clip.

Phil Foden’s representatives have been approached for comment, whilst Manchester City said in a statement: “The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused.

"We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family member.

"We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need.”

Foden and Manchester City saw their title hopes dealt a blow a few hours before the incident after Harry Kane's late goal condemned them to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Tottenham.

"Well it was a good game. We tried through many sides, especially down the left. It is very difficult, they defend so narrow," manager Pep Guardiola said after the loss.

"Tottenham have a lot of quality, they give the ball to Harry Kane. They are really good up front.

"In the first half they have the goal and no more. In the second half they have one attack with Harry Kane at the start and they score.

"We try to score but we conceded the goal in extra-time."
