Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Have the Perfect Blueprint for a Pokemon Day Event
Highlights
- Pokemon Scarlet and Violet could have a special event for Pokemon Day 2024, celebrating their success and the release of their DLC.
- A raid event featuring shiny versions of the game's legendary Pokemon would be a fitting way to celebrate Pokemon Day and add valuable additions to players' collections.
- The famous Zeraora raid event from Pokemon Sword and Shield proves that rewarding players with shiny legendaries is a great way to bring the community together.
Pokeon Scarlet and Violet could have a perfect opportunity for a big event in order to celebrate Pokemon Day 2024. With it officially being over a year since the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC now released, the time could be right to do something special. Pokemon Day is a time when fans should have something worth looking forward to. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have proven their worth despite an initially shaky launch. They should be able to bring something worthy of celebrating once Pokemon Day comes along.
An annual tradition for the franchise, February 27 is Pokemon Day, and it is an important day to remember. Every year, Pokemon Day is marked by announcements or events. In the past, this has included such details as:
- Revealing a new Pokemon game
- Announcing new Pokemon-related merchandise
- Revealing in-game events and promotions
- Anime series and movie streams
Pokemon Day always brings something worth noting to fans. The biggest examples would be the announcements of Pokemon Sun and Moon and Pokemon Sword and Shield in 2016 and 2019, respectively. While a new game may be out of the question for 2024, there should still be something worth celebrating.
After Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Gen 10 Should Give Arbok the Incineroar and Sceptile Treatment
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced broken new critters and made older ones equally powerful, and it's time Gen 10 does the same with Arbok.Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Could Feature an Amazing Raid on Pokemon Day
Pokemon Sword and Shield's Zeraora Max Raid Was an Exciting Event
Game Freak once ran a Zeraora Max Raid in Pokemon Sword and Shield that tasked players with a special goal. If the raid was completed a million times during the event's timeframe, then a shiny Zeraora would be distributed to every player via Pokemon Home. It was a momentous event with a massive in-game prize, and players more than rose to the occasion, shattering the goal. While releasing event Pokemon was nothing new, this was the first instance of one being used as a reward in such a way. Considering the event's success, it's an idea worth keeping in mind for the future.
Scarlet and Violet Could Recapture the Excitement of Zeraora's Event Raid
A similar raid event would work well for Pokemon Day, especially if it stars Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's resident legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon. Just like how a Shiny Zeraora was offered as a reward for its Max Raid being cleared a million times, a raid could be set up for players to catch Koraidon or Miraidon, depending on their version. A shiny version of the respective legendary, or perhaps even the opposite version's legendary, could be the prize on the line this time. It was a good idea the first time, and would be a fitting way to celebrate the latest Pokemon Day.
A Legendary Raid Would Suit Pokemon Day Perfectly
There are several good reasons for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to have a special raid event. While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's legendaries broke tradition by spending almost the whole game with the player, their shiny forms are both striking, and would be a valid addition to any player's collection. This is doubly true if players can get the legendaries from the opposite game, since it would give them a chance to complete their Paldean Pokedexes with a Pokemon that would be difficult to get otherwise. Not to mention, the most important Pokemon of the latest generation are a perfect cause for celebration.
The plans for Pokemon Day 2024 could include all sorts of announcements and events. In particular, this year could feature a raid greater than Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's Tera Raids by giving them a shot at shiny versions of the local legendaries. Pokemon Day is supposed to be special, frequently featuring some of the biggest Pokemon-related news of the year. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can match that level of importance with its own in-game event. Pokemon Day 2024 could be a grand celebration with a chance for shiny legendaries in Scarlet and Violet.
