Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's Baby Name Is Finally Revealed

Three months after her arrival, the public is finally learning the name of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's baby girl.

According to the birth certificate first obtained by TMZ, the two stars named their daughter Malti Marie. The word Malti generally means small, fragrant flower or moonlight in Sanskrit, per The Tribune India. The paperwork also shows that the child was born just after 8 p.m. on January 15, 2022 at a hospital in San Diego, California.

Back in January, Chopra and Jonas first announced the happy news that their first child had been born. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” Chopra wrote on Instagram at the time, tagging her husband in the caption. “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family.” The couple wed in December 2018, throwing a series of lavish weddings that incorporated both traditional Western and Hindu celebrations.

Following the birth of their child in January, a source told People that the couple were “truly eager to be parents. They are beyond excited. Nick and Priyanka have wanted a baby for some time.” Another insider added, “This is a happy time for all. Nick and Priyanka are definitely ready for this new challenge in their lives. It is something they have both wanted. Now is their time, and they could not be more ready to raise a child.”

And Malti Marie already has plenty of cousins to play with as Nick's brother Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle Jonas, have two daughters, 8-year-old Alena Rose and 5-year-old Valentina Angelina, and Joe Jonas and his wife Sophie Turner have a 1-year-old daughter Willa and are currently expecting their second child.
