The Municipality of Eindhoven expects 80,000 to 100,000 fans at the possible championship celebrations on Monday and around 30,000 people to visit Eindhoven to watch the potentially championship-clinching match on Sunday, a spokesperson for Eindhoven Mayor Jeroen Dijsselbloem said.

PSV only needs to avoid defeat against Sparta Rotterdam to win the Eredivisie title. With three matches to go, the title is more or less confirmed due to a nine-point lead over second-placed Feyenoord. PSV also has a far superior goal difference.

If the Eindhoven club does not win the title against Sparta, they can still end up becoming champions that day should Feyenoord fail to win in a later match. In that case, the celebration will be held on Tuesday instead of Monday. PSV plays at 12:15 p.m., while Feyenoord kicks off at 8 p.m. against PEC Zwolle.

If they win the title, the PSV squad will travel through the city in an open-top bus before celebrating with the fans on a stage at City Hall. There is space for 19,500 fans on the Stadhuisplein there. The municipality shared that the celebrations can be viewed on big screens on the 18 Septemberplein and the Markt. Catharinaplein and the Oude Stadsgracht will be used as overflow areas if it is too busy.

The municipality of Eindhoven will announce via various channels where the championship party and the celebrations are too crowded and where there is space to celebrate. “The squares where the organized festivities will occur are being set up as an event location,” the spokesperson said. The squares could also be closed if they become too busy.

People can watch the possible championship match on big screens on the Markt and the 18 Septemberplein. Requests for a spot in those areas are still being processed.

The bars and restaurants in Eindhoven were already permitted to place television screens showing the match on their terraces without needing to apply for it.
