Leipzig vs. Wolfsburg preview: A company club battle
Wolfsburg, looking to get out of the relegation conversation host Leipzig, who are in a major battle to claim a place in next season’s Champions League.
Leipzig
Leipzig haven’t lost in their last six competitive games and easily took care of business away to Freiburg on Matchday 28. The goal to end the season is a CL spot and it should be a battle to the end with Dortmund for 4th place.
With David Raum suspended, Benjamin Henrichs could switch over to the left with Mohamed Simakan playing on the right. Wolfsburg looks to be the easiest match on paper left to end Red Bull's season and they now must take advantage.
Marco Rose commented, “Despite having a new coach, Wolfsburg have similar routines and feel the same. But, Ralph Hasenhüttl is also trying to introduce a few new themes there, he is someone who likes to actively defend forward.”

Yussuf Poulsen is out, while Raum is suspended. Lois Openda is one yellow away from receiving a suspension.
Wolfsburg
Ralph Hasenhüttl has a win and a loss in his first two games in charge, but there’s definitely more hope in the air following his arrival. Just five points clear of the relegation playoff spot, Wolfsburg really need more points to avoid getting dragged down into the bottom spots.
The big news from this week is that Managing Director for Sport Marcel Schäfer has left the club. It’s reported that he’s set to soon join RB Leipzig, which could give the green company club extra meaning for this contest.
In a presser, Hasenhüttl said, “Every game is extremely important. We still have six to go and we know that we still need a few points.”
Team News
Koen Casteels, Rogerio, Lukas Nmecha and Kevin Paredes are out with injuries. Patrick Wimmer is questionable with an illness and Maxence Lacroix is still suspended.
