BBC Comic Relief start time, hosts and full schedule for Red Nose Day 2022


BBC's Comic Relief is back as the biggest stars of TV, sport, entertainment and music join forces to raise money for a good cause. The star-studded 2022 event is set to air on BBC One tonight (March 18).
Highlights of this year's event, which will mark the 36th anniversary of Red Nose Day include a Strictly Come Dancing reunion and an opera-singing challenge. Elsewhere, viewers can expect to watch stars try everything from mini golfing to mind reading.
The majority of the fundraiser will be hosted live from Salford's Media City by Sir Lenny Henry, Paddy McGuinness, Alesha Dixon and David Tennant. Vernon Kay and AJ Odudu will later take over to present the second half.

So what can BBC viewers expect to see during Comic Relief 2022 and which celebrities will be joining in for the event? Here's the full schedule.
BBC Comic Relief 2022 scheduleThe event will be made up of a mixture of live performances, hilarious sketches and one-off comedy specials featuring some of your favourite stars. There will also be several films highlighting the positive impact Red Nose Day donations have made, both in the UK and across the world.
Here's what you can expect from Comic Relief 2022:
- Scarlett Moffatt, Helen George, Nina Wadia, Tamzin Outhwaite and Rosie Jones will learn how to become opera singers in the Comic Opera challenge
- Strictly Come Dancing champions Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice reunite to perform a new routine
- Fantastic Beasts stars Jude Law and Eddie Redmayne surprise school children during a visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
- David Walliams and Matt Lucas star in a special of their sketch show, Rock Profile
- Kylie Minogue stars in a sketch alongside the cast of Ghosts
- Comedian Jack Whitehall joins footballers Mason Mount and Declan Rice for a game of Mini Golf
- Celebrities including Stephen Fry read an adults-only Bedtime Story
- The cast of & Juliet perform a medley of hits
- The Repair Shop's Jay Blades gets a special visit from French and Saunders' characters 'The Extras'
- The Magic Goes Wrong team perform a hilarious mind-reading routine
- Sandi Toskvig and Alan Davies host as Jo Brand, Sally Phillips and Guz Khan take part in a special edition of QI
Comic Relief 2022 kicks off on Friday, March 18 at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The first part of the show will finish at 10pm, with AJ Odudu and Vernon Kay picking up again after the news with the late-night portion from 10.35pm.
