Dancing On Ice’s Jayne Torvill breaks down in tears during live show as Christopher Dean comforts her...
DANCING on Ice's Christopher Dean stepped in as Jayne Torvill was reduced to tears last night.
The legendary skater became emotional after Regan Gascoigne delivered a skate inspired by Torvill and Dean's "Barnum" performance from the World Championships in 1983.
He scored a perfect score of 40 - the third of the night - and Jayne, who performed the circus-themed skate 39 years ago, burst into tears.
The 64-year-old told him: "I mean we know that technically your skating has always been good, but tonight everything came together.
"The performance, erm, I'm getting emotional now."
Christopher leaned over and touched her arm, as fellow judge Oti Mabuse took over giving Regan his feedback.
Oti said: "Oh I love to see that. Regan for a couple of weeks I thought you were on the same level but tonight, you were so technically good."
Regan was also in tears, and said "This is insane. It's not just a skate, it's your life. It's amazing getting to recreate that.
