RideLondon: Thousands of Cyclists Take Part in Charity Event
What is RideLondon?
RideLondon is an annual two-day cycling festival held in London and Surrey. The event attracts thousands of cyclists from around the world, who come together to raise money for charity and enjoy a weekend of cycling.
The 2021 RideLondon Event
The 2021 RideLondon event took place on August 21-22 and saw thousands of cyclists take part in the charity event. The route took riders from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, through the city and out to the Surrey hills, before finishing on The Mall in central London.
Participants could choose from a range of events, including the 100-mile challenge, the 46-mile challenge, and the FreeCycle event, which allowed riders to cycle through central London on traffic-free roads.
Raising Money for Charity
RideLondon is a charity event, and participants are encouraged to raise money for a range of charities. Since the event began in 2013, it has raised over £80 million for charity.
This year, participants were able to choose from a range of charities to support, including Cancer Research UK, Mind, and the British Heart Foundation.
