Tammy Abraham scored the only goal of the game to deny Leicester a spot in Europa Conference League final, as Roma beat the Foxes 1-0 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate.
The Englishman and former Chelsea striker headed home in the first half to send Jose Mourinho’s side through to the final in its inaugural season.
That was Abraham’s 25th goal of the season and his ninth in the competition, as he continued his fine form in front of goal.
The only English players to score more in a single major European competition are Alan Shearer in the 2004-05 UEFA Cup and Stan Bowles in the 1976-77 UEFA Cup.
Leicester struggled to break down a typically stubborn Mourinho side and could managed just ten shots throughout the 90 minutes, despite spending much of the evening chasing the game.
A touching moment at the Stadio Olimpico came when boyhood Roma fan and Premier League winner with Leicester, Claudio Ranieri, appeared on the big screen.
The whole stadium preceded to give the legendary Italian manager a standing ovation, as he emotionally waved back at the 64,000 supporters.
How lovely is this!
