Virgin Atlantic launched a one-flight promotion, employing Rylan Clark, a British media personality, to act as a flight attendant on a flight between London and Miami, surprising passengers and helping his Virgin Atlantic colleagues to work during the flight.

Dreams of being a flight attendant

According to the airline, the British television presenter, radio DJ, and number one bestselling author has always dreamed of being a flight attendant, which was why Virgin Atlantic decided to test Clark’s skills as a cabin crew member.

The media personality put on the Vivienne Westwood uniform for an in-flight training session while flying at 38,000 feet (11,582 meters), joining the carrier’s flight attendants who served economy class passengers during the flight. However, Clark also welcomed passengers as they boarded the aircraft, helping them stow their hand luggage in overhead lockers while also being part of the pre-flight safety demonstration for travelers.

Clark was briefed before the flight, with fellow Virgin Atlantic cabin crew members Ombi Barham and James Cooper, teaching the presenter how to deliver the airline’s thoughtful touches and personalized service, which customers have grown accustomed to while flying with the carrier.

Celebratory film

To celebrate the promotional flight, Virgin Atlantic has also released a film that captured the in-flight action as Clark welcomed passengers to the aircraft while also attempting to make an announcement on the public address (PA) system.

However, the personality was also caught snacking during the flight, namely enjoying Mile High afternoon tea and catching up with numerous families traveling between London Heathrow Airport (LHR) and Miami International Airport (MIA).

“Now I know how to serve a signature Mile High Tea, I know who’ll be getting a copy of my CV if the TV career doesn’t work out!”

Meanwhile, Barham said that it was a pleasure having Clark onboard, testing his skills and his ability to embody the airline’s spirit.
