ITV This Morning fans slam Phillip Schofield for telling UK Eurovision Song Contest entry he won't win
ITV This Morning fans have flooded the show with criticism over Phillip Schofield's treatment of the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry today. Schofe, aged 59, welcomed Sam Ryder onto the programme on Wednesday.
But fans were left disappointed to hear Phil douse Sam's hopes. Phillip said: "I love the competition but I can't watch the scoring. It drives me crazy. I want you to win so badly. I can't tell you. And every year we send our hopeful off.... to try and do the thing, last year with James Newman. Off you go James! But then, oh God, he comes back with nothing.
Christopher Reilly wrote: "For gods sake Phil, stop being so negative towards Sam Ryder and Eurovision. Let him go and do his best and enjoy it. Stop with the defeatist attitude before he even gets there. #ThisMorning #Eurovision."

Slapstick Sally said: "Phil. The build up to Eurovision where you say on telly they hate us, makes them hate us even more #ThisMorning."
Katie moaned: "Shame This Morning (Phil) turned it into actually a really negative interview. Sam did really well to answer positively. ANY UK Eurovision fan will tell you that the fans in other countries do not hate the UK, they disliked the poor songs we have sent. And they are right!!"
Ryder said: "Having been a fan of Eurovision since I was a kid, I am so honoured to have been presented with the opportunity to sing at an event alongside some of Europe's most talented creatives, performers and songwriters.
"I hope to sing my head off in a way the UK can be proud of, and to showcase a song I wrote with my friends last summer makes the whole experience even more special. See you in Turin, legends!"
