Sanremo 2024 – 3rd night

We also had so many special guests this evening to help make the night one to remember!

Former Sanremo participant Paolo Jannacci took the stage alongside Stefano Massini to perform 'L'Uomo nel Lampo,' while Russell Crowe performed 'Let the light shine.' Eros Ramazzotti could be found on the Sanremo stage as well performing his Sanremo winning song from 1984 'Terra promessa.'

The legendary Gianni Morandi also gave us some performances to remember. He sang one of his hits from 1966, 'C'era un ragazzo che come me amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones,' as well as his Sanremo 2022 entry 'Apri tutte le porte' which placed 3rd overall.

Showcasing their song 'Furore' on the Suzuki stage we had Paola & Chiara from last year's edition of Sanremo. Rapper Bresh took to the floating stage on the Costa Smeralda to perform his song 'Guasto d'amore.'

Tomorrow night is the highly anticipated cover night! All 30 artists will be performing a song or medley of their choosing, either as a solo or as a duet with an Italian or internationally acclaimed artist. Lorella Cuccarini will be co-hosting alongside Amadeus.

Italy has participated in 48 Eurovision contests. They have won three times:

Their worst result came in 1966, when they finished last.

Italy 1958: Domenico Modugno - "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu"

Italy's most well-known song is "Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu," better known as "Volare" from 1958. It is also the most covered Eurovision Song Contest song ever. The song has been covered by famous stars such as Dean Martin, Cliff Richard, David Bowie and many more.

Italy took a long pause from the Eurovision Song Contest between 1998 and 2010. Since then, Italy has been a "Big-5" country, which means they don't have to go through the Semi-final round and are automatically qualified for the Grand Final.
