A primary teacher allegedly filmed hitting and kicking a horse during a hunt meeting has been sacked from her school job.

Sarah Moulds, a 37-year-old mother of two, and teacher at Somerby Primary School, was filmed apparently kicking and punching a distressed horse following a hunt meeting in Leicestershire, earlier this year.

The clip, which was captured by anti-hunt activists on November 6, went viral, sparking anger both nationally and internationally.

The school in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, suspended Moulds from her role while investigations were carried out.

The shocking recording shows a girl appearing to lose control of a horse while leading it into a horsebox.

A woman then grabs its tether before kicking it and slapping its head at least four times.

In a statement, the Mowbray Education Trust, which represents seven schools in the Melton Mowbray area, has confirmed Moulds had now been removed from her position.

Paul Maddox, the Trust's Chief Operating Officer, confirmed Sarah Moulds’ employment with the Trust “has been terminated”.

“As a Trust, we are committed to ensuring the best standard of education for all of our young people and we look forward to continuing this throughout the 2021/22 academic year and beyond,” the statement continued.

The clip has since racked up millions of views.

The Daily Star earlier reported that Moulds was also listed as a team manager for the local Cottesmore Pony Club.

But she has since been removed from the website following the allegations.

The Pony Club said Moulds would not be continuing in "her voluntary position as a team organiser for a branch".

The RSPCA, which is leading an investigation into the incident, earlier called the footage “really upsetting”, while Leicestershire Police confirmed it would assist the RSPCA with its enquiries.

Mould said she would not be commenting on what had happened with relatives revealing she was "taking legal action".

It is unknown if any criminal action will take place against Moulds.
