9.4 million people tune in for Scotland v Switzerland on BBC One
Scotland v Switzerland drew in more than half the nation’s TV viewers on Wednesday evening, as the BBC brought people together to watch BBC Sport’s coverage of Scotland’s hard-fought draw against Switzerland, keeping their Euro 2024 hopes alive.
Last night the BBC had a 54% audience share for coverage of Scotland v Switzerland on BBC One, with a peak audience of 9.4 million people. The match was also streamed 3.6 million times on BBC iPlayer and there was an average audience of 8.6 million.
Alex Kay-Jelski, Director of BBC Sport says: “We got to see the real Scotland last night in their performance against Switzerland, and audiences came together once again in huge numbers to follow one of our home nations at Euro 2024. Our TV presentation team of David Moyes, Gabby Logan, Joe Hart and Rachel Corsie did a fantastic job expertly analysing the game, and it’s great to see such a positive audience reaction. Anticipation for Scotland’s final group match against Hungary is high and audiences can follow the action across BBC TV, iPlayer, Sounds and Online.”
