Hundreds of Sky Mobile users across the UK complained of being unable to access 3G, 4G and 5G today (Thursday, April 11), with some pointing out it is not the first time in recent weeks the mobile network has gone down

Sky Mobile users were left unable to access crucial services today (Thursday, April 11).

Hundreds took to the website DownDetector, which tracks when websites and services are not running, to register issues with the mobile network. Areas such as Manchester, Hackney in east London and Birmingham were the worst-hit, according to the site.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the company's help team said: "We are aware that some Sky Mobile customers are experiencing issues with their 3G/4G/5G services. We are investigating the issue and we are sorry for any inconvenience this may be causing."

But users were not happy and several commented this was not the first time in recent weeks they had suffered issues with their network provider. One wrote: "Sky mobile is down again!! Such patchy service this week," before demanding to know "what's going on?"

"Sky mobile is down in Leeds. I have a phone that won't work for anything if I turn off my WiFi and I need to leave for work soon," another added, followed by a crying emoji.

"Sky Mobile is down for a second time this week. When do you expect this to be resolved please?" said a third, while another declared the network must be setting a "record" for the number of times users have been left high and dry.

About 250 people had reported issues with their connectivity this morning. Of these, 69% had complaints about being unable to access the internet, while 25% mentioned their mobile phone was affected. Just 5% mentioned TV issues in their reports.

A Sky Mobile spokesperson said: “We are aware that some Sky Mobile customers may be experiencing issues with their data services. We’re working hard to fix this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

The spokesperson has since confirmed services are back up and running as normal.
