United States Partial Solar Eclipse: When and where to watch first eclipse of 2022
Although the eclipse will not occur over the UK, we’ll be able to watch it on a live stream. But astronomy fans won’t have too long to wait to see an eclipse in the UK, as one is due in a few months time.

What is a solar eclipse?A solar eclipse is when the Moon comes directly between the Sun and the Earth.

A solar eclipse can only be seen from certain parts of the world because the Moon is much smaller than the Earth, meaning its shadow will only cover a small part of the world.

The next partial solar eclipse in the UK will take place on October 25, 2022.
But the next total solar eclipse won’t happen until September 23, 2090. The last time a total solar eclipse happened in the UK was in 1999.
