Loose Women's Sophie Morgan 'shook' as she recalls life-changing accident

Loose Womens Sophie Morgan shook as she recalls lifechanging accident
TV presenter and disability advocate Sophie Morgan revealed she was left 'shook' as her mum showed her a picture that was taken six months before she was in a nasty car crash in 2003

Loose Women's new guest host Sophie Morgan opened up about an accident that left her paralysed and changed her life forever.

On today's episode of the ITV daytime show, Sophie joined Christine Lampard, Coleen Nolan and Jane Moore on the panel.

Sophie, 36, suffered a nasty car crash in 2003, and appeared on the show to speak about how she believes the driving age should be raised.

She revealed her mum recently sent her a photo from when she was just 17 and taken six months before the crash happened.

Getting emotional, she said: "It kind of shook me when I saw it and it shook me for a couple of reasons. I was at work and I wasn’t expecting to see a picture of myself, but I was quite surprised by my reaction."

She continued: "Part of me was looking at this image of my little self thinking, if I could, would I go back and tell her in six months' time you're going to go and collect your A level results and you're going to go to a party and you're going to go to an afterparty.

"And in that journey, you’re going to lose control of your car and you’re going to crash, and you’re going to be paralysed from the chest down and you’re never going to walk again, you’re never going to feel or move from that injury level down for the rest of your life, or would I say nothing at all?

"I really have this conundrum. I thought, would I save her from her fate so to speak? Because, actually I love where I’ve got to in my life and she’s going to be okay. I’m okay. In fact I’m better than okay. I’m really thriving in my life."

Sophie concluded: "I found the picture quite thought provoking. Seeing an image of yourself just before a trauma, or just before a major milestone in your life whether that’s positive or negative, I think a lot of people can feel that sense of 'Would you go back, what would you say?'"

Viewers were left in awe of Sophie, with many begging for her to become a regular host on the show.

"Thank you Sophie Morgan for your honesty and frankness," one shared.

Another person wrote: "Sophie Morgan is brilliant on loose women - never seen her before but she should definitely be part of the regular team."

"Yes. I loved everything she said, bless her!" a third agreed.
