Exactly 48 hours after claiming important Boxing Day victories, Saints and Spurs are back in action for another festive Premier League match-up.
Antonio Conte has got Tottenham firing and is yet to lose a match since taking over in North London, unless you count the Covid-enforced Europa Conference League forfeit against Rennes.
Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min all scored in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out but, with a game also on New Year’s Day, it will be interesting to see how the harsh calendar affects the two teams.
Southampton claimed a hard-fought 3-2 victory at West Ham two days ago to lift them nine points clear of the relegation zone and can look forward to 2022 optimistically if they can repeat that result in their last game of the calendar year today.
