The Saints welcome Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men to McDiarmid Park for the Premiership encounter

Both sides threw away leads last time out as they continue to fight battles at opposite ends of the table.

Rangers were two goals to the good against Motherwell at Ibrox on Sunday before the Steelmen came back to earn a 2-2 draw in a damaging result for their hopes of retaining the Premiership title.

With Celtic - three points ahead at the summit - also dropping points in a stalemate at Hibs earlier in the afternoon, it was a huge blow for the Gers and one the won't want to repeat at McDiarmid Park this evening.

Their opponents tonight, St Johnstone, are in a relegation battle but sit two points ahead of basement boys Dundee.

Despite taking the lead last time out at Ross County, the Saints would go on to lose 3-1 and fall seven points behind the Staggies as it looks like being a two-team relegation fight.

There's a lot at stake for both sides and Football Scotland has everything you need to know ahead of tonight's match.
