The result sees the gap between the current champions and league leaders Celtic remain at three points as the Light Blues failed to take advantage of the Hoops dropping points against Hibs earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, St Johnstone will have no intention of making it easy for Rangers as they desperately scrap to avoid the drop and will see this is a huge change to cause an upset and secure three big points.

What they've said in the build-upVan Bronckhorst insisted Rangers would have defeated Motherwell if Scottish football had VAR.
He said: “We created 30 chances in the game.
“I know it has been a hard week but we were playing well and creating chances.
“There were also three minutes added time, which for me was unbelievable.
“But again, it is the refs who decide it.
“I think in the build-up to Motherwell’s second goal, their player was offside.
“We also scored two goals which were even closer with Morelos.
“You couldn’t see it with your eye but they got a really sharp eye in those moments – but when one player is one yard offside they didn’t see it.
“That is why you need VAR, for these moments to help referees.
“With VAR, we would have won this game."
