Strictly fans spot 'fuming' Motsi Mabuse as Rose and Giovanni announced as winners

Strictly Come Dancing fans have pondered by judge Motsi Mabuse didn't seem happy with the result of this year's series.

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice were crowned champions after an emotional live final on Saturday night, with Bake Off star John Whaite and Johannes Radebe.

Despite giving the winning couple glowing praise, telling the EastEnders actress she has "improved as a person" due to being able to watch her dance, many Strictly fans noted how Motsi seemed "unhappy" with the result.

"#Strictly congratulations to Rose and Giovanni. Motsi’s face as the result was announced priceless, not a happy bunny," one viewer to Twitter to share after the tear-jerking final on Saturday night.

"Motsi wasn't happy with the result, was she?! #Strictly," another suggested after catching a glimpse of the Strictly judge following the announcement.

"Motsi looked absolutely fuming with the result there! #Strictly2021 #Strictly," a third agreed.

Another fan wrote: "Motsi could barely hide her disappointment at the result. #Strictly."

However Motsi has since fired back at the claims saying: "Even after such an emotional and Fantastic final people still will find a way for hate ! Imagine sitting at the living room and interpreting this ??

"It’s a shame ! Thank you for all the Love and support I received they override this comment by the thousands."

Earlier in the evening, Motsi was full of praise for the actress and professional dancer Giovanni, as they wowed everyone once again with their stunning Romeo and Juliet inspired routine.

There wasn't a dry eye left in the studio once the victorious couple performance one of their final dances on the BBC dance floor.

"This is a person who's shown us we are capable of doing anything we set our mind to and that was your space too. I feel like an improved person because you were on this show," Motsi told Rose when offering her feedback on the final show.

But as the results were announced, and Rose and Giovanni were set to lift the coveted Glitterball trophy, some viewers watching at home felt Motsi's face suggested she would have preferred John and Johannes to have been crowned champions.

"Motsi’s face when Rose was announced the winner reminds me of all 4 judges faces when Jay McGuiness won in 2015, barely concealed dislike for the result #Strictly," one fan suggested online.

"Motsi looked so peed off that rose and giovanni won #Strictly," another added.

A third quipped: "Motsi looks ragin #strictly"

One fan did jump to Motsi's defence amidst the slew of tweets commenting on her reaction to hearing Rose and Giovanni had been voted the winners of Strictly Come Dancing 2021.

The level-headed viewer suggested that the South African-German dancer may have had a compassionate reason for wanting to see Strictly pro Johannes lift the Glitterball trophy.

"Everyone needs to leave Motsi alone. Only Motsi and Oti understand how hard it has been for Johannes coming from South Africa … and here he is in the strictly final. I think she is entitled to feel a little disappointed," they argued on Twitter on Saturday night.

When another viewer suggested her reaction was "unprofessional", another supportive fan leapt to her defence, replying: "Whaaaat? You’re reading too much into something that isn’t there."
