BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara has shared a lengthy statement about "pushing herself to breaking point" for the sake of "art".

The pro dancer is currently enjoying a live tour around the country. She shared a post about her ongoing live dates on Instagram.

Janette posted: "On the road to Birmingham on a Sunday which most would consider a rest day, but for us it’s just another day of the week. We love what we do enormously. There really is a magic that exists when performing that is truly inexplicable.

"Less then 2 weeks left of @rememberingtour now…. Embracing every moment on stage and feeling truly present in that magical space." The post saw Janette say: "There must be something crazy about the artists; that we wilfully chose a life of uncertainty. A lifetime with no guarantees. We put our bodies through some rigorous stuff. Our life is full of peaks and valleys and sometimes an abyss.

"We see unprecedented success and monumental failure all in a season sometimes within a fortnight. We sit, stand, wake, sleep, starve, ache in awkward spots glued together by a shared thrill. We lead disruptive lives, unhealthy schedules and also regimented discipline. [...] Pushing ourselves to breaking point. All for a piece of art, for a brief moment."
