China simulates strikes on Taiwan from aircraft carriers as drills
China has recently conducted military exercises simulating strikes on Taiwan from aircraft carriers, raising tensions in the region. Ship-launched J-15 fighter jets have been observed inside Taiwan's air defense zone, which is a significant escalation of China's military presence near the democratically ruled island.
The drills have sparked concerns among Taiwan's government and the international community. Taiwan, officially known as the Republic of China, has been a self-governing territory since 1949, but China considers it a part of its territory and has not ruled out the use of force to bring it under its control.
The increasing military activities by China in the Taiwan Strait have raised fears of a potential conflict. The United States and other countries have expressed their support for Taiwan's security and sovereignty, urging peaceful resolution of the cross-strait tensions.
