When shops are open on Easter Monday, with opening times for Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and more


The Easter weekend represents a four-day weekend for many people in the UK, starting with Good Friday and concluding on Easter Monday.
People will be eager to make up for lost time after two years of bank holidays being disrupted by Covid-19 restrictions.
However, changes to services could catch you out. If you’re expecting a postal delivery, for example, you might have to wait a little longer, while you might find your bins are collected on a different day to usual.
You might be frustrated, too, if you need to nip to the shops for some essentials – here’s when the supermarkets are open on Easter Monday on 18 April.
When are supermarkets open on Easter Monday? TescoTesco opening hours over the Easter period vary from store to store and by location.
All large Tesco stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed on Easter Sunday, but Express stores will remain open and their Scottish stores are open as normal.
On Easter Monday store opening hours will vary depending on location and store type.

MorrisonsAll Morrisons stores outside Scotland will be closed on Easter Sunday, but stores in Scotland will be open as normal.
On Easter Monday most of the stores will be open 7am to 8pm although a few will remain open until 10pm.

AsdaAsda advises only that as times vary across their supermarkets to check your local store’s opening hours here.
Aldi stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, but will reopen on Easter Monday from 8am to 8pm.
However, the supermarket stresses that some opening hours may vary so do check your local store’s opening hours here.
LidlOn Easter Sunday Lidl branches will be closed in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but will be open as usual in Scotland.
Then on Easter Monday, stores will be open 8am to 8pm and open as usual in Scotland and inside the M25.
However, hours may vary at different stores so it’s best to check your local store’s opening hours here.
Sainsbury’sOn Easter Sunday, the “vast majority” of Sainsbury’s supermarkets across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed. Stores in Scotland will remain open. Sainsbury’s Local stores will be open from 7am to 11pm.
However, stores will be open as normal on Easter Monday. Openings hours do vary though, so it’s best to check the store locator for the latest details.
Waitrose & PartnersWaitrose & Partners shops in England and Wales will close on Easter Sunday (17 April), although all Shell and Welcome Break stores will trade as usual.
On Easter Monday, the majority of Waitrose & Partners shops will be open from 8am to 8pm, with some Little Waitrose shops opening from 6am to midnight.
