‘That’s the biggest shock’, cry furious fans of The Apprentice as contestant makes it to the final amid con...
FANS of The Apprentice were left gobsmacked after an unlikely candidate sailed into the finals.
Pie shop owner Phil Turner beat Tre Lowe, Rachel Woolford and Dr Paul Midha to the last stage of the competition.
During the grueling interview stage of the show, Phil concerned Lord Sugar's advisors with his lack of numbers in his business plan.
He was also grilled by Mike Soutar over the date he claims his business was established and was accused of "lying to customers".
But it seemed an emotional moment with Claudine Collins about his family pulled him back into the running.
Phil will go head to head with recruitment consultant Flo Edwards in the show's final.

But fans were not impressed, with many pointing out that he only won one challenge during his entire time on the programme.
"Surely Phil has the lowest win rate to ever reach the final of #TheApprentice," one wrote.
"phil is gonna win the show after winning one task," said a second.
"PAUL SHOULDVE BEEN YOU IN THE FINAL NOT PHIL," another added.

"Unbelievable Phil is the bloody final," chimed another.
"There’s no way Phil can win the Apprentice, you can’t lose 9/10 tasks and win the show," echoed a fifth.
Tre's testosterone-boosting shots failed to tickle Lord Sugar's taste buds, and Rachel's gym dreams didn't provide enough to grab the business tycoon.
There was a last-minute change to Dr Midha's business plan after he was told by Lord Sugar's advisors to "stick to what he knew".
His plan was a scrubs business, despite having little knowledge of the industry with his expertise being in dentistry.
At the last minute, Paul changed his proposal and suggested that he and Lord Sugar open a second or third dental practice together.
However, Lord Sugar wanted 50 per cent of his current practice, which Paul said wasn't possible.
Many viewers felt that Paul deserved to be in the final more than Phil.
