BRIT Awards 2024 viewers 'cringe' minutes into show as they blast 'painful' kisscam moment

BRIT Awards 2024 viewers cringe minutes into show as they blast painful
kisscam moment
BRITs viewers have tweeted their distaste just minutes into the 2024 ceremony, after a kisscam segment, which included an impromptu "kiss" between Kylie Minogue and Roman Kemp, left them "cringing" with embarrassment.

The BRIT Awards left viewers bombarding Twitter with embarrassed comments just minutes into the 2024 ceremony. Roman Kemp looked shocked and sheepish after Kylie Minogue appeared to plant a smacker on his lips for the kisscam - and social media erupted with reactions.

"The #BritAwards get cringier every year jesus wtf was that kisscam nonsense? " one quizzed. (sic) "Think I might possibly die of cringe just watching this!" echoed another, with a hands-over-face emoji. (sic)

Blasting the "carcrash" moment as "painful", a third wrote: "Every year, without fail, no matter what they do, the Brits is always AWKWARD. WHY?!? #brits." It was about to get even more awkward as Roman went on to take a sip of his drink after pouring it into one of her stiletto heels that she'd given it to him.

Kylie drank from the other shoe, while Maya Jama quipped that she should be careful, as Roman had confided to her beforehand that he had "athlete's foot". The cheeky comment left confused fans wondering when he'd been wearing her shoes.

Meanwhile, Roman told Kylie that he'd have to "wipe off the makeup" from his face, and that he was "still a little bit sweaty" afterwards. The comments continued to flood in, with bemused viewers making ample use of the tears of laughter emoji and quizzing: "WTF was that?"

The ceremony continues into the evening with Dua Lipa, Mahalia, Little Simz and Arlo Parks all hoping to win big tonight.

However, this year's biggest hitter is set to be breakout star RAYE, who has already gained glowing endorsements from the likes of Rod Stewart and Jools Holland.

She's a singer, songwriter and producer, and although she was scarcely heard of last year, she's jumped into 2024 to great acclaim.

The Tooting-born star has broken a record to become the musician to receive the most nominations ever in a single year - and her independently-released debut, My 21st Century Blues, went on to hit the number two spot in the UK album charts.

RAYE is up for an incredible seven BRIT Awards, having already been announced as the Songwriter of the Year winner - and Betway spokesman Chad Yeomans has weighed in on her chances of clinching the other titles.

"The burning question on everyone’s mind is - how many can she win?!" he mused.

“She’s of course nominated for the night’s top award, the British Album of the Year, for her stunning debut record My 21st Century Blues.

"Despite competition from Little Simz, who was recently named Best Hip Hop Act at the MOBO Awards, we make RAYE the odds-on favourite at 4/7 to win the prestigious gong, which means she has a 64% chance of victory.”

No Thank You by Little Simz has been awarded odds of 3/1, with Blur's The Ballad of Darren coming in at 11/2, J Hus' Beautiful and Brutal Yard at 9/1 and Heavy Heavy by Young Fathers at 11/1.
