Strictly Come Dancing viewers claim Tilly Ramsay was snubbed in finale footage
Strictly Come Dancing's Tilly Ramsay featured briefly in a video montage of highlights at the end of the final tonight but viewers claim she deserved more air time

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have claimed show bosses snubbed contestant Tilly Ramsay on Saturday's show.

People tuning in noticed that in footage of the highlights of this year's series hardly starred the daughter of Gordon Ramsay.

Tilly, who was voted off earlier in the series, revealed earlier this week that she won't be taking part in tonight's final, which was won by EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her partner Giovanni Pernice, because she tested positive for Covid.

The 20-year-old featured briefly in the video montage but fans took to Twitter after the final to claim she should have been given more air time.

One said: "I understand Tilly Ramsay has COVID but she should have been included in the highlights and could have recorded her VT from home, it’s almost likes she’s been airbrushed out!

Another puzzled person wrote: "It doesn’t make any sense that Tilly doesn’t figure prominently in the montage."

Shame @tillyramsaynwasn’t mentioned more in #strictly final. Get well soon Tilly," a third said.

A fourth added: "#Strictly I know #Tilly has tested positive for covid but they haven’t even mentioned her , which is a shame …"

On Wednesday Tilly took to Instagram to reveal to her 1.2 million followers that her absence was due to having coronavirus.

Tilly wrote: "So sad to be missing the Strictly final - but sadly have tested positive for Covid so will be watching from my sofa and cheering on the amazing finalists from home on Saturday night."

The chef and social media influencer said that she was "wishing everyone lots of love and good luck".

Robert Webb was also unable to take part in the final due to his ill health.

He said this week: "I seem to have switched from public to private mode and one of the effects of this is people will inevitably find their own ways to interpret my 'silence'.

"It really isn't silence of course. It's just doing other stuff but I thought I ought to pipe up because I won't be in the group dance of the Strictly final this [Saturday]," he added.

The comedian then told his followers: "I didn't want my absence (or my 'silence' about it) to be taken as evidence of any kind of bad feeling towards the show."

He added: "My love for Strictly is a season that is forever summer. However, the producers understood that when I had to stop, I had to stop completely."
